Help reimagine the accounting profession: CPA Canada foresight

Sponsored content: What will become of the accounting profession? The profession is experiencing unprecedented change and you have a chance to shape its future by joining CPA Canada’s digital conversation to share your views on a reimagined future of the profession. The effects of new technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence, shifting societal attitudes towards inclusion and sustainability, and unclear boundaries between industries are being heavily felt in every sector.

As we’ve heard over the last few days, the accounting profession is on the precipice of a fundamental transformation. How we respond to and manage these changes will undoubtedly impact the future of CPAs, the profession, and overall business in Canada and across the world.

Joy Thomas, president and CEO of Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), explains, “These changes provide an opportunity for the accounting profession to reimagine its future. Along with change comes opportunity, and the new business landscape creates great potential to solidify CPAs as leaders in the business world.”

Outcomes of a reimagined future

As one of the world’s largest accounting bodies, CPA Canada launched an innovative project to help shape the profession’s future earlier this year. CPA Canada Foresight: Reimagining the Profession is a multi-stakeholder consultation that combines in-person roundtables with an open digital conversation. We’re inviting CPAs and members of the global business community to get involved by participating in our digital conversation to share your thoughts on different themes related to the profession’s future.

Get involved

Add your thoughts and ideas to our digital conversation. Here’s how in 4 easy steps:

Step 1: Visit and click “Create an Account.” It will only take one minute.

Step 2: Share your thoughts on three key discussions.
Step 3: Respond to the ideas of others or vote for your favourite responses.
Step 4: Bookmark and visit often! We will be sharing new content (videos, interviews, questions, scenarios) from our roundtable events to deepen the discussion.
