General Manager, Enterprise Data and Financial Excellence - Fonterra

About the Speaker

Priya is General Manager, Enterprise Data and Financial Excellence at Fonterra, the world’s largest exporter of dairy products. At 28, she is the youngest GM at Fonterra, reporting into the CFO to head up the global enterprise-wide data, finance process optimisation and digital finance transformation mandate.

The primary purpose of her role is to undertake a number of special projects finding solutions to the most complex problems in finance, technology, procurement, operations and addressing strategic initiatives across Fonterra.

Priya was previously Manager, Strategy & Operations at Deloitte Consulting where she started her career. She has been recognised internationally for her social impact leadership through Karma Collective and Mentor me Fiji Foundation, two organisations of which she is the Founder & CEO. Mentor me Fiji has been working with young girls living in Fiji’s orphanages since 2012 to foster education and development through a tailored mentoring program.

In 2016, Priya was awarded an Associate Fellowship with the Royal Commonwealth Society and went on to co-design and co-develop a mentoring program at scale with the Commonwealth Youth Council for underprivileged girls across all commonwealth countries.

Through Karma Collective, Priya has used technology to narrow the education and skilled human resource gap that developing world entrepreneurs face as a barrier to success and grass-roots economic development for their community. Karma Collective deploys the skills, passion, and talent of young professionals in New Zealand to provide pro-bono consulting services to entrepreneurs in the developing world via a custom-built digital platform. In 2017, Karma Collective served twelve entrepreneurs in Nepal, Cambodia, and India.

Priya launched her first for-profit start-up in 2017 called Pop the Question, a creative agency which co-designs and curates marriage proposals in New Zealand. She has also served as an International Fellow for Kiva, through which she lived in Kyrgyzstan to work with micro-funded farmers. She was appointed as Airbnb’s Ambassador for the South Pacific in the lead-up to the Commonwealth Games, is a travel journalist for multiple award-winning publications, and has published a novel titled “Aria: On Purpose” under her pseudonym, Grace A. Walt.
